Did you know? Rainbows are actually called circumhorizontal arcs when they appear at the horizon, and not just above it. This phenomenon occurs when sunlight passes through ice crystals in cirrostratus clouds.

Creative Coloring Ideas:
• Here are five coloring ideas for a rainbow:
• 1. Rainbow of fruit: Color the clouds at either end of the rainbow in red and blue to represent apples and blueberries, respectively.
• 2. Rainbow of candy: Color the middle two bands of the rainbow in pink and light green, representing cotton candy and gummy bears.
• 3. Rainbow of flowers: Color the outermost band of the rainbow in yellow to represent daisies or sunflowers. Alternatively, color it purple for lavender, violet-colored flowers.
• 4. Rainbow of sports balls: Color the first two bands of the rainbow in orange and light blue to represent basketballs and soccer balls.
